Enough time to replenish your “Chi” (Life Force Energy) by eating something nutritious. (and delicious!)
Don’t Skip Breakfast!
The morning meal (a healthy breakfast) is the most important meal of the day!
3 Healthy | Easy | Breakfast Recipes
Nut Butter and Banana Waffles
5 minutes | Serves 2
Toast 4 frozen whole-grain waffles. Divide the waffles, spread with 4 tablespoons of peanut butter or almond butter. Add thinly sliced bananas, top with 1 tablespoon of honey and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
Mushroom, Swiss Cheese and Scallion Egg White Omelet
10 minutes | Serves 1
In a large, non-stick skillet, over medium heat, cook 4 sliced mushrooms and 2 sliced scallions in olive oil – until tender (2-3 minutes). Stir often. Remove them from the skillet. Beat 4 large egg whites, combined with salt and pepper. Cook in the skillet 1 – 2 minutes, until the egg whites begin to set. Add the cooked mushrooms and scallions. Top with ¼ Cup of shredded Swiss Cheese. Fold the egg whites over the fillings.
French Toast with Raspberry Topping
10 minutes | Serves 2
Whisk together in a shallow bowl :
1 large egg, ½ cup low-fat milk, ¼ tsp cinnamon, ¼ tsp ground allspice.
Use 4 thick slices of whole wheat bread – dip into the egg mixture. In a large nonstick skillet, cook in unsalted butter over medium heat, 2-3 minutes on each side, until golden. Add a dusting of confectioners’ sugar. Divide the toast, top with 2 tablespoons (ea) of raspberry jam and maple syrup. Add a smattering of fresh raspberries.
Healthy Breakfast Basics
Drink a glass of water first thing in the morning to re-hydrate.
Include high-quality protein and fat in your breakfast.
Eat within one hour of waking. Make it simple if you’re in a rush – but don’t skip breakfast.
Replace coffee with high-quality organic green tea for more energy.
